So called self proclaimed network marketing hotshots often tell their downlines, “get out there and SELL SELL SELL. The only way you will ever make it in this business is to run the numbers, and SELL SELL SELL.” Certainly you have heard “just go talk to people”, “fake it ’til you make it”, “you need to get really motivated.”

Oh please spare me, I’ve heard this crap all too often. Selling is dead in MLM, and if you are talking with someone who is telling you to make a list of all your friends and family RUN RUN RUN!!!

You don’t need to become a pushy, aggressive, spam-aholic, or be on the receiving end of “oh crap, here he comes again, he’s going to try to get us to join his newest business scheme. How many has he failed at now?”

Left to their own demise, these people, who have been sucked in to this mentality, are attempting to make it on their own, and feel totally helpless, as if it is their fault, feeling there is something wrong with them.

The truth is, it’s virtually impossible to build any Network Marketing business alone, just like it takes a village to raise a child and weather the storms of life, it takes a community to build your business and survive the challenges along the way.

Remember, you are perfect exactly as you are, as is every member of your team. Everyone you meet is perfect exactly as they are. They don’t need to change in to being something they are not.

So, what is one to do? Build a community of people who share a vision. Community, like charity, begins with you. You start building a good community when you decide to be a good neighbor, and you take the initiative. You then reach out to your own network of friends, your team, even strangers, and start building a community.

What’s the best way to get started? It’s easy, and you can learn how from our community, while developing your community along the way. The choice is yours.

You can start by clicking here and down load our ebook and begin building and creating your harmonious community.

Don’t become a pawn in the game of multilevel tricks.

What’s done is done; yesterday is history. There were good days, and bad days. Some will leave me with wonderful memories, others will provide me with lessons that hopefully I have learned from. Making believe that something will change without doing something about it is a futile endeavor.

I have, as do you, within, the power to create whatever we want in life. We can create a healthy, positive environment for success, a life on purpose, power, and happiness. We can envision our future as we want it to be. By creating that focus, and taking steps each day to achieve it, will bring us rewards unimaginable.

Viktor Frankl, in his 1946 book “Man’s Search for Meaning”, he shares his experiences as a concentration camp inmate during WWII and outlines his method of finding a reason to live. Here are some excerpts from his book:

* Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

* Each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible. Ever more people today have the means to live, but no meaning to live for.

* Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated, thus, every-one’s task is unique as his specific opportunity to implement it.

* Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

* For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment.

* Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had acted wrongly the first time. When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.

Begin this new year fresh, as the artist facing a new canvas. Begin this year by downloading my e-book HERE, that will change your life.

I believe in you!

HOOORAY, HOOORAY, HOOORAY!!!!

Finally a site to report the below FRAUDSTERS!

This came from my good friend The MLM Attorney.

Written By: Nehra & Waak, Attorneys at Law
Gerald P. Nehra

I receive 10 to 20 fraud or scam or phishing emails a week, sometimes
as many as 5 on the same day. No one in Nigeria is waiting to make me
rich. I have not won an overseas lottery that I never even entered. I
am not the heir to a fortune of someone with a similar name who died.
I will not receive a substantial commission for assisting in the
transfer of millions of dollars, and my bank is not requiring that I
update my account. I know enough never to click on links in these
types of messages, or open any attachments. I simply DELETE. But I
want to do more, if I can, so I have found: FraudWatch International.

Now, before I DELETE, I FORWARD the email to:

scams@fraudwatchinternational.com

To learn more about FraudWatch International you can, if you choose,
go to: http://www.fraudwatchinternational.com. In the lower right
hand corner of the front page, there is a place to subscribe to their
Phishing Fraud Alerts. They also have an extensive index of known frauds
and hoaxes.

Gerald P. Nehra

Thank You Gerald!

Here’s the deal.

You can’t outgrow your self-image.

You won’t get any type of result that is bigger than what you believe is possible.

Until you change your mindset, you will not achieve significantly abundant results.

This is probably the biggest hurdle that most people don’t realize.

From stone poor down and out, to truly believing in ones heart, is a challenge most people fail to overcome.

Pushing your belief system to an entirely new level of what you think is possible is the key to creating this kind of success.

You know what’s funny?

Once people get over their self limiting beliefs, and get rid of their self sabotaging ego that feels as if they have been attacked, they start seeing results…serious financial results in their business! I know this to be true as I have coached hundreds and hundreds of sales people who went from mediocrity to success.

This was accomplished by following one simple principle. That principle was this: know what you have, and improve it. It doesn’t get any simpler.

In my world of training and coaching, I called it “supportive intervention”. Many folks referred to it as “crappy criticism”. Guess what? Those who saw it as criticism failed and those who saw it as a way to improve what they had, succeeded. Not so funny when you think about it, is it?

Your mindset is your most precious asset, so be careful what you think about, because it will most certainly become a reality.

Consider this: the power of the human mind is incredible. Seeing, actually visualizing what you want, is much more than positive thinking. Positive thinking is extremely worthwhile and we should have as many positive thoughts as we can every day. However, it’s the seeing, the visualizing, that is so powerful.

It’s the art of creating pictures in your mind of whatever it is that you want. It is by far one of the most useful tools and skills I have developed to get me where I am today. But to master this alone is not nearly enough. Not only do you need to visualize what it is you want but the key component to achieving your goals of what you are visualizing is to have the belief that you will do so. As I stated above, you have to push your belief system to an entirely new level.

I feel that having this unwavering belief in yourself, and who you are, is what creates the drive to do what it takes. It’s the absolute trust in a person, idea or thing. Down here in Florida where I live, the expression is “get ‘er done”.

Don’t let your situation control you, no matter how bad or how good it is. It can and will always get better. Practice visualizing what you want and step out with the belief that it is already there. Take what you have and who you are, get rid of the sabotaging beliefs, and stretch your thoughts to bigger and better ideals. Yeah, it might be a bit uncomfortable. So what. I have never met a runner who could run a marathon their first day out. It takes work, practice, and persistence.

Step up your game plan, visualize more, believe more, trust yourself more, and watch. You will amaze yourself if you practice this and make it a part of your everyday life.

I believe in you!

Until next time, I am
Neat huh? It explains a lot, that is if you are a student of mathematics.

So, what does this equation have to do with marketing? Nothing and everything!!!

Many folks in marketing overstress themselves by getting involved in complicating their lives. When adding more complexities to their lives, they get more and more tired, and finally give up. It’s no wonder that over 95% of those who start a business, fail.

Bill Britt, one of the most successful network marketing distributors ever, was interviewed some years ago on 20/20. They did a feature story on network marketing. They spent time interviewing distributors who had failed, and then showed the stock piles of stuff they couldn’t sell.

At the very end of the show, Bill was interviewed in front of his home. He was asked, “Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What’s your secret?”

He said, “There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said no, and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire.”

Like all successful marketers, Bill worked through the numbers.

Plain and simple, any business is a numbers game!

Thomas Edison is quoted as saying it would take a matter of a few weeks to invent the bulb. In reality, it would take him almost two years of failed attempts, new discoveries, and prototypes before he would find success. It is said he tried over 6,000 different carbonized plant fibers, looking for a carbon filament for his light bulb. By concentrating and inventing a whole lighting system rather than just a single light bulb, Edison succeeded where others had failed.

Now that’s what I call persistence!

As Calvin Coolidge once said:

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not – Nothing is as more common than the
unsuccessful man with talent.
Genius will not – The unrewarded Genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not – The world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and persistence alone is Omnipotent.”

This isn’t rocket science, so you don’t need to be educated to succeed in this industry by having all kinds of letters after your name. All you need to be is persistent.

It would also help if you had a mentor with the primary purpose of assisting you in creating your success.

Until next time, I am

“Sittin’ in the mornin’ sun, I’ll be sittin’ when the evenin’ come,
Watching the ships roll in, and then I watch ‘em roll away again, yeah,
I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay, watching the tide roll away,
Ooo, I’m just sittin’ on the dock of the bay, wastin’ time”.

These lyrics were recorded by Otis Redding on December 7, 1967, just three days before his death in a plane crash outside Madison, Wisconsin.
The song “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay” was #1 for 4 weeks in 1968.

So, there you are, just sitting there, staring at your computer. You just picked up the days mail, and six of the seven envelopes are for bills that are now overdue. The seventh letter was yet another “get rich with-out working” scam. No wonder, as another lyric in the song states “look like nothin’s gonna come my way”, is how you feel.

It was February, 1993, and I was living in Portland Maine at the time. I was unemployed. My savings had dwindled to zero. I didn’t have a phone, and my monthly bills were getting farther and farther behind. The mortgage payment on the apartment I owned was 4 months behind, and I had to keep the heat turned down as I could not afford to keep it warm. I had lost my car, and if one knows anything about winters in Maine, a 5 minute walk in sub freezing weather isn’t fun. I knew just about every bartender by name. I wasn’t a drinker, but I knew which bars had free hors d’oeuveres during their happy hour. A cup of hot coffee I could afford, and I knew that I would not go hungry that day. During this time, the lyrics that Otis Redding wrote seemed to replay constantly in my mind. I really wondered if I was ever going to get out of the mess I was in.

People had a ton of advise to offer, but none of it mattered. How many times can you hear “get a grip”, or “everything will turn out okay”? Well, sometimes when you are up to your armpits in aligators, the notion that everything will turn out okay is the last thing you are thinking about. In those very moments, you are in survival mode.

How many folks reading this can relate to that? How many folks feel that way right now? How many folks have no idea where to turn, let alone have any idea what to do next?

This post is not about “what I did to get going again and so can you” crap.

This post is about things you can do, right now, that won’t cost you a cent to implement and will bring purpose back into your life.

Are you ready?

1. Admit it. Life sucks at the moment, and let everyone you know that you have the “right” to feel that way. We all have a right to our feelings!!!

2. Accept it. No matter what your situation, all the thinking, sleeping, day-dreaming, or getting drunk, won’t change a thing.

3. Stop. That’s right, stop. Take a break, and just let things be as they are.

I say this because you need to have a starting point. You have to know where you are beginning. Besides, at some point you will want to look back and see how far you have come.

Here is where we really get things moving positively.

1. Clean off your desk. Get rid of everything, and I mean everything. Imagine you are leaving your home because you are being evacuated due to a hurricane hitting your town within hours. You will have to leave some things behind; the things you can live without. Most people’s desks are cluttered with things they can live without. Get rid of it all.

2. Go in to your email account, delete everything that is in you inbox, sent file, drafts, saved emails, and be sure to delete your delete file. It’s nothing more than useless clutter anyway.

3. Empty that file folder that is full of the junk that you saved thinking that you will get to it later. I bet some of the things in there have been collecting dust for over a year.

4. And be sure to rid yourself of all those files, downloads, booklets, videos, mp3′s, and all the other junk that is taking up space on your computer. If you haven’t read, listened to, or watched them by now, you most likely never will.

We are doing this because as the artist who creates a masterpiece starts with a clean canvas, you too must start fresh and clean as you create the tapestry of your life.

After all this is done, guess what? There is more to do.

1. Find a quiet place and get yourself settled.

2. Use three lists to write down everything that comes to mind. When you feel you have to think about it, stop!

List number one is “what do I want”. The second list is “what do I need”. The third list is “what must I have”. These could be anything. For example, I may “want” a new car, but I “need” to have my current car serviced, because “what I must have” is a ride to my appointments on Monday morning. Got it? Good.

“Get her goin’ then”, as they say down here!!!

Now that you’re thoroughly exhausted from writing down everything that comes to mind for these three lists, it ‘s time to take a break.

The real work is about to begin.

Take list number 1, and prioritize each item by numbering them. If you have 25 wants, then they will be numbered 1-25. Do this for all three lists.

Now take the top 5 items from each list. This is how you will resolve conflicts and determine which of your items will be placed on your final “to do” list.

For example, I may want to have dinner this weekend with a friend whom I haven’t seen for a while. However, I’ve made plans for the weekend and I need to honor that commitment. I also know that I must have a particular project finished before Monday morning.

I now have conflicts between my “I Want”, “I Need”, and “What I Must Have” lists. I need to place those in order of priority. Certainly decisions will have to be made and plans changed, etc.

Now go through your 3 “Top Five” lists of items and PRIORITIZE them. When you’ve finished, put them on your calendar. That’s right, put them on your calendar!!!

Now, select the next five items on each of your lists, these would be numbered 6-10. Prioritize them, and put all these on your calendar.

Continue doing this until every single item that was on each list is now on your calendar.

If you have done this, congratulations. You have just created a road map. You now have things to do, places to go, and people to see.

The purpose of this exercise is to get you to write everything down regularly. Weekly is recommended to get the best results. Simply delete items from your master list as you complete each item.

This will help you get organized, living and working more efficiently, and ultimately freeing up more time; time that was lost because you were “sittin’ on the dock of the bay, wastin’ time”.

Enjoy the process. Realize that life will get in the way at times, but know that you have taken a major step forward in creating a purposeful life.

In my next post, get ready for something truly wonderful. It will answer that burning question, “now that I have done this stuff, and I created more free time, what will I do with it”?

Until then, I am,

I think that is an interesting title for this blog. They just simply don’t listen. Quite appropriate if you take the time to think about it.

You know, when I go into one of those huge home improvement type stores, what I am looking for is “results”.
Certainly you have heard the story of the the customer who wanted to drill a hole. Yup, he wanted a hole in his wall. He had specific ideas of the diameter, and he also knew it had to be perfectly round, and at a perfect 90 degree angle. Seems clear to me, and I assume it is clear to you as well.

But, when Willie entered the store in search of the perfect tool to create his perfect hole, guess what he got? A fast talking salesperson who was only interested in pontificating the features of the drill he wanted or needed to sell that day. He told this potential buyer about torque, adjustments, ease of putting on different clutches, amps, wattage, length of power cord, and frankly, a pile of useless manure. All Willie wanted to know was if the tool would give him the hole in the wall he wanted. And you know, price was not a factor.

Had this salesperson taken the time to ask a question like; “So guy, what do you want to do?, he might have come away with a significant sale for the day. Nope, instead, he decided that what he had to say was more important. Like most sales people, all he wanted to do was hear himself talk.

But you know, when a buyer approaches, they have questions, and those questions, if answered, will definitely assist in creating an exchange of money for goods or services.

I recall an incident several years ago. I was rebuilding one of my bathrooms, and was in desperate need of a wrench that would help me with putting in the pipes. The sales person asked me what I was attempting to do. I told him, and the first question he asked me was if I was left handed! Well, it happens to be that I am left handed, and what I was explaining was from that perspective. Not only did this sale person work with me in helping me choose the appropriate tool, he also found one that was easy for a left handed person to use. Needless to say, I became a customer that day, and admit that over the next year or so, I accumulated a number of different tools, ones that were easy for a left handed person to use, and I would only purchase my tools from that particular salesperson.

So what you ask! Well, when you finally realize that people buy what they need, that they are looking for solutions to their problem or issue, you will succeed.

Isn’t that what people are buying? Aren’t they buying solutions to their particular problem? Aren’t they looking for a way to fix something?

Hello, it’s time to wake up folks!!! Here is a simple rule: Ask, and ask a dozen times more if necessary, but ASK your prospect what they want to accomplish, what their issue is, what they are looking for. Then shut up and let them talk, and truly listen.

If you have the solution to their problem, and can solve it for them, TELL THEM for gosh sakes, but don’t go on and on about your company, your companies status, the key execs, debt structure, compensation plans, and so on. No one cares. And frankly, your prospect doesn’t care either.

A prospect wants to know three things:

1. What is you business.
2. How much will it cost me to get involved.
3. What do I have to do in order to be successful.

If you can’t answer these question from you potential customer/client point of view…get another job, or at least get one where you don’t have to deal with the wants and needs of others.

The single most important ingredient in your answer to these questions, in addition to the factual information you provide, can be summed up with one word. EXPERIENCES.

As a consumer of goods and services, I don’t give a tinkers darn what car you drive, that you have a Rolex watch, or how big your house is. What I do care about is how someone is going to assist me, and I will learn that by the experiences they have had with others like me.

Our business is massive, and people want solutions every day, 24/7. Those who become successful find out what those problems are, find solutions, and present those solution to people over and over again.

Most people in sales, mlm marketing, or any other activity that involves others purchasing their goods or services, fail, because they don’t get this.

It is simply that they spend way too much time talking when they should be spending their time asking questions. If you don’t ask, how do you expect to find out what they want or need?

Until next time, I am,

“I am in the international exploration business looking for entrepreneurs who want to increase their free time while becoming financially free. This can be obtained through, and enhanced by, their efforts in creating multiple streams of residual income that will ultimately improve the quality of their lives”.

What Did You Say???? Holy Yawn Batman!!! If you have any clue as to what the above sentence means, let me know. But guess what? A lot, and I mean a lot of folks in business come up with this kind of mumbo-jumbo, and put their prospects to sleep. No wonder most of them say out loud “I have to think this over”, while silently to themselves are saying “Huh, am I not getting this, or has this person just arrived from LA LA Land?

Like many of you, I have read tons of garbage, ordered useless programs, and wasted a whole lot of time let alone dished out tons of money, and for what? A pile of frustration, a bigger pile of useless books, tapes, and CD’s, and a much smaller wallet is what I got.

You know, you find a site, you like the content, and you sign up to get their emails. And then the barrage hits and you get a solicitation to buy every single day! And those sales pages, if printed out, would give a roll of bathroom tissue a run for its money!!!

Keeping it simple is perhaps the biggest challenge we face. Twitter is a perfect example of this. How often have you wanted to “Tweet” something, only to find that you have gone over your allotted 140 characters, and then find it almost impossible to reduce down? Enough said.

What is needed is to create a quick, succinct, and profound statement that describes exactly what your business is all about. It’s called by many names – Elevator Speech, Unique Proposition, One Minute Presentation. Regardless of what you call it, creating this is a must.

Let me give you an example. I have a good friend of mine here who represents an organization that does business all over the country. As an independent contractor, he calls on local business owners and shares with them the benefits of joining his organization. His closing rate is over 75%!!! If any of you are in direct sales, you know this is fantastic!!! At a network meeting, I asked him how he does it. “It’s simple Dom. All I ask is this. Are you interested in getting new customers, cutting costs, and increasing your profits”? “Or when someone asks me what I do, I state: I help local businesses get new customers, cut their costs, and increase their profits”. You know, every business owner I talk to wants to know how. And then I ask for an appointment by saying – “let me come by, and in less than 5 minutes I will show you what it’s all about. Do you want to get together”? He gets appointments every time.

I thought about this for a bit before writing this blog. He has taken the idea of simplicity to create a conversation that is simple and easy for a prospect to say yes to. The prospect knows it will benefit their business, knows that it will be a quick meeting, and knows that my friend means business. There is no BS, no lengthy emails, and no twisted jargon; just simple and clear language that anyone can understand – language anyone can create.

By the way, in his 5 minute presentation, he tells his story, tells what his company is all about, what the prospect has to pay to join, and what the prospect has to do to make it beneficial. His closing line? Hah, simple. He asks “What do you want to do?” It’s either a yes or no, and that’s it. By the way, for him the sales call is over if the prospect says no! There is none of that old worn out crap “that the sales call begins with the first no”!!! People don’t want to be sold, but they do want to make an informed decision. Provide the information, let them decide, and that’s it.

Keeping it simple makes it easy. Making it easy means anyone can do this. Keeping it simple, if you are in MLM, means you can easily recruit others to join you, your team, and create wonderful success. Keeping it simple means you can train others to do the same. In MLM, you are making it easy to duplicate yourself.

In my next issue, I will discuss with simple terms, in detail, what your prospect needs to know to make a decision.

Until then, I am,

Hi Everyone!

In part 1, you learned the following:

1. Targeted lead generation

2. Automated prospect follow-up

3. One-on-one relationship building

I hope you took some of the salient points and have put them in to practice. In this post, as promised, I will give you the other two things I do that make for a fun and prosperous business.

Here they are!

4. Sponsoring. Wow! I love that word, “sponsoring.” See, that word means many different things to me, and for sure a whole lot different than it means to others. Why? Because I take YOUR success personally.

When I’m your sponsor, I’m your sponsor for life. I’m 56 years old. In 50 years or so, I’ll be going to your funeral, or you’ll be going to mine. If I’m your sponsor, that’s it, that’s just the way it is. You & I will be in business together the rest of our lives.

So wouldn’t you rather sponsor people that you want to associate with? My mentor told me, “Only sponsor people that you’d want to go on a 1-month cruise with.”

Wow! How important is that? Don’t just sponsor somebody who can fog a mirror. ONLY sponsor people who you really want to build a business with.

5. Training. Absolutely the lifeblood of your business is teaching, training, coaching & mentoring new people on how to do network marketing.

You’d better have a team website. You’d better have a step-by-step “Action Plan”. You’ve got to train them.

They need to learn the skills of how to do MLM. That’s critical in the training process. You can train a dog. But for people, you have to teach them the skills they need to do this business.

Ninety-two per-cent of the world’s population is sales resistant. They don’t like to sell, don’t like to be sold. So don’t waste your time studying about the superduper elixir drink, where the ingredients are scraped off the rock by blind leprechauns every other full moon. Don’t study the product ingredients.

Study people. Learn to identify them. I have a book let that I published years ago. It was an adaptation of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as it related to people making a buying decision. Folks, this includes the people you are trying to recruit in to your business!! Send an email to me – dominic@ddmogavero.com – if you would like to get a copy. I will send it to you as soon as I receive your request.

You’ll learn how to listen to people, and you will own your business, you will own your life, and most importantly, create opportunities for others to do the same. It doesn’t get any better than that!

This is what is called a “Greased Funnel”. Step 1 flows smoothly into Step 2. Step 2 into Step 3. Step 3 into Step 4. Step 4 into Step 5. And step 5 into Step 1. And it continues over and over again.

Having a greased funnel means there are NO bumps along the way, no impediments, nothing whatsoever to even slightly slow the flow of a prospect from one step to the next.

To be successful over the long term, you MUST have a ‘greased funnel’ marketing system for your opportunity. You need to offer total training in the skills of working with people, so that you get better and better ‚ and your people can plug into exactly the same system, making it far easier for you to help them as you gain more & more experience.

As I stated in my previous post, “if you build people, then people will build your business”.

It really is that simple. And yes, a lot of fun!

Can you think of a better way to help others create abundance in their lives as well as your own?

I can’t express this loud enough or often enough. Time is of significant social importance, having economic value (“time is money”) as well as personal value, due to the awareness of the limited time in each day and in human life spans.
